Job Description – Industrial Automation & Data Integration Engineer

Role Summary
Responsible for the development, integration, monitoring, and support of industrial automation and data management solutions using AVEVA System Platform 2023. The role involves end-to-end implementation of BMS and EPMS monitoring solutions, including device data acquisition, object modelling, alarm management, Historian integration, visualization development, and operational dashboards. The candidate should have a good understanding of AI applications in industrial automation and should be willing to work on AI-driven use cases to enhance monitoring, predictive analytics, and operational efficiency. The position also includes system troubleshooting, automation of operational workflows, and documentation for client deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- AVEVA System Platform Development
- Develop and configure applications using AVEVA System Platform 2023.
- Design and develop visualization screens and web applications (ViewApp) for monitoring operational data.
- Perform functional testing and validation of developed screens and applications.
- Monitor application logs and troubleshoot issues related to Web ViewApp functionality.
- Configure SMS notifications and alerting mechanisms within the system.
- Support system deployment and operational monitoring activities.
BMS & EPMS System Integration
- Work with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) to monitor facility infrastructure.
- Understand device-level data flow and communication from field systems.
- Create device inventory and system mapping for integrated assets.
- Perform object modeling and I/O mapping in AVEVA System Platform.
- Integrate device data through OI MQTT via SCADA systems.
Alarm and Event Management (UOC)
- Implement alarm monitoring and management using AVEVA Unified Operations Center (UOC).
- Configure rule engine objects to detect and process alert conditions based on operational thresholds.
- Design and generate alert cards for operational monitoring.
- Store alarm and event data in SQL databases for further processing and visualization.
- Support Kanban-based alert card management within UOC web widgets.
Automation and API Integration (AI Tools)
- Utilize n8n workflow automation platform to integrate application processes.
- Develop API-based workflows to execute SQL scripts from ViewApp.
- Automate operational notifications and alerting processes.
- Configure workflows for email notifications and alert sound triggers within web widgets.
- Utilized for creating agentic AI workflows to make task easy and quick.
- Apache Jmeter integration for MQTT broker testing and n8n Testing.
Data Management and KPI Reporting & Aveva Reports
- Design and develop KPI dashboards using SQL-based data.
- Analyze operational data to monitor system performance and efficiency.
- Support business users by providing operational insights through dashboards.
- Aveva Historian Management for data store and Insights.
- Experience in enabling Aveva reports creating report UI and UOC Integration.
System Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor application logs and system health.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues related to:
- Data ingestion
- Alarm processing
- Visualization applications
- Ensure reliability and availability of monitoring systems.
Documentation and Project Deliverables
- Prepare technical and functional documentation for client projects.
- Create project deliverables including:
- SDS (Software Design Specification)
- SAT (Site Acceptance Test documentation)
- Technical User Guides
- Test cases and validation documentation.
- Support project estimation and planning activities.
Project Implementation
Participate in end-to-end project implementation, including:
Understanding site infrastructure
Device inventory creation
System architecture setup
Application development
Testing and deployment
Successfully contributed to the completion of full site implementation.
Data Bricks to Historian Integration
- Experience in handling data transfer from Historian to Data Bricks.
- Knowledge of Data Bricks to understand DB creation and data dump.
- Knowledge of web based application to create or configure the required data transfer process.
- Knowledge of setting up VM for Historian, System Platform and UOC.
