Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily activities of the rail operations team, ensuring all rail services are delivered on time, safely, and in compliance with regulations.
- Develop and manage schedules for trains, track resources, and staff, optimizing operations for efficiency and meeting customer requirements.
- Monitor operations for adherence to safety standards and regulations, ensuring all safety protocols are followed by the team and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues that arise during daily rail activities, such as delays, equipment malfunctions, or logistical challenges, to minimize disruptions.
- Work closely with maintenance teams, station staff, and other operational groups to ensure seamless coordination and prevent disruptions to rail services.
- Track key performance metrics related to rail operations, prepare regular reports, and recommend improvements based on data analysis to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction, and actively contribute to the implementation of new procedures, tools, or technologies.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve service-related issues, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction with timely and reliable rail services.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in rail operations or a similar transportation-related role.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with rail operational systems, scheduling software, and operational management tools.
- Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Strong understanding of rail safety protocols.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle operational disruptions and emergencies effectively.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring smooth coordination and collaboration.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, especially in managing scheduling, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
- Certifications: Any relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Transportation Professional) or knowledge of industry-specific regulations are a plus.
